Location: Newport News, VA and North Chesterfield, VA (with travel to project sites)

Job Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $60,000–$80,000 annually, plus car allowance and bonus potential

Reports To: Senior Project Manager

We're certified to install epoxies, urethanes, polyurethane cement, and other specialized resinous systems — giving our customers the best system for their project rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. About the Role

We're looking for a Junior Project Manager to support the planning, coordination, and execution of industrial coatings projects from initial scope through completion. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who wants to grow into a full project management career in commercial/industrial construction. You will work closely with the Senior Project Manager, field supervisors, and customers to keep jobs on schedule, on budget, and to CEC's quality standards.

What You'll Do

Assist in developing project schedules, budgets, and material/equipment plans alongside the Senior PM
Coordinate with field crews, suppliers, and subcontracted trades (as needed) to keep projects moving
Track job costs and help maintain accurate job-level financial records (labor, materials, equipment)
Communicate with customers, architects, engineers, and specifiers on project status, timelines, and site logistics
Help prepare submittals, material data sheets, and manufacturer certifications for specified coating systems
Conduct or support site visits to monitor progress, surface preparation quality, and safety compliance
Assist in punch list management and project closeout documentation
Support procurement of materials and coordinate delivery timing with project schedules
Maintain organized project files, RFIs, change orders, and daily reports
Help enforce CEC's safety program and OSHA compliance standards on job sites
Participate in project meetings and take ownership of assigned action items

What We're Looking For

1–3 years of experience in construction project management, project coordination, or a related field (internship or co-op experience welcome)
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business, or related field preferred — equivalent experience will be considered
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Comfortable reading project plans, specifications, and submittals (or eager to learn)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word); experience with scheduling or project management software a plus
Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to travel to job sites and between our Newport News and Richmond offices as needed
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
A proactive, problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn the trade from the ground up

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $60,000–$80,000 annually, commensurate with experience
