Full Job Description

New Directions Center is seeking a highly organized, dependable, and trauma-informed professional to coordinate the agency’s housing services program. This position will oversee housing advocacy, housing stabilization, Rapid Re-Housing, and other current or future housing-related services while also providing direct assistance to survivors experiencing housing instability or homelessness.

The Housing Services Program Coordinator will work closely with clients, landlords, housing providers, community partners, and agency staff to help survivors obtain and maintain safe, stable housing. The position also supports program development, grant compliance, data tracking, reporting, and the long-term sustainability of New Directions Center’s housing services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Coordinate New Directions Center’s housing services, including housing advocacy, housing stabilization, Rapid Re-Housing, and other housing-related programs.
Provide direct housing assistance to clients, including housing searches, applications, landlord communication, documentation readiness, inspections, lease review, move-in coordination, financial assistance, and housing stability planning.
Work with clients to develop individualized housing stability plans focused on safety, permanent housing, barrier reduction, and connection to long-term community supports.
Serve as an active member of Valley Homeless Connection, Continuum of Care committees, and other relevant community groups, while developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with landlords, housing providers, community agencies, and allied professionals.
Coordinate the day-to-day work of housing-related staff, interns, and volunteers as assigned.
Maintain accurate and confidential client records, program databases, spreadsheets, financial-assistance documentation, measurable outcomes, and follow-up needs.
Enter required information into VAdata, HMIS or comparable database systems, and other program tracking tools.
Prepare program narratives, outcome reports, grant documentation, and supporting materials required by funders.
Ensure housing services, financial assistance, documentation, and reporting comply with grant and funder requirements.
Assist with identifying service gaps, funding opportunities, and program-development strategies to support the growth and sustainability of housing services.
Assist with grant proposals, program narratives, data collection, and outcome reporting.
Complete required housing-related certifications and trainings.
Participate in agency meetings, trainings, outreach activities, hotline or crisis-response coverage, and other mission-related responsibilities as assigned.

Agency-Wide Responsibilities

As a member of New Directions Center’s advocacy team, the Housing Services Program Coordinator will also:

Provide trauma-informed crisis intervention, safety planning, advocacy, information, referrals, and support to individuals impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.
Maintain confidential client and agency records and complete required documentation in a timely manner.
Participate in client-care meetings and case reviews as needed.
Assist with community education, professional training, outreach, and public-awareness activities.
Participate in required agency and funder-related training.
Maintain positive and professional relationships with clients, staff, volunteers, community partners, and allied professionals.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with housing navigation, Rapid Re-Housing, landlord engagement, homelessness services, housing stabilization, or rental-assistance programs.
Knowledge of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, crisis intervention, and trauma-informed advocacy.
Experience with grant-funded programs, program reporting, data collection, and measurable outcomes.
Strong working knowledge of Google Workspace and Microsoft Office, especially Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to manage spreadsheets, track data, and prepare reports.

Physical and Work Requirements

Ability to perform general office duties using a computer, phone, copier, scanner, and other standard equipment.
Ability to work in office-based, community-based, and mobile-service settings.
Ability to travel to client appointments, housing appointments, community partner locations, trainings, and outreach events.
Ability to participate in move-in and move-out coordination, which may occasionally require lifting, carrying, loading, unloading, or transporting heavy household items and supplies, with assistance when appropriate and reasonable accommodation as applicable.

Pay: From $40,000.00 per year
