What is a "B-Level Technician" at Auto Authority?
To clear up any confusion, here is exactly what we mean by a B-Level Tech:
You are a skilled, independent professional who has graduated past basic maintenance and can efficiently tackle general mechanical repairs, fluid services, brakes, suspensions, steering, and basic charging/starting system diagnostics. You don't need your hand held to get through a repair, and you know your way around a scan tool. While you might still be mastering advanced level diagnostics, electrical repairs, or heavy internal engine teardowns (which we don't do much of anyway!), you are efficient, accurate, and safe while not breaking bolts or backing yourself into a corner that you can't get out of.

The Work Mixture:
- Our Clientele: We service a great mix of vehicles, sitting at about a 65% Import to 35% Domestic split. Of those imports, it's about a 50/50 split of European luxury vehicles to Asian/other imports.
- What We Don't Do: We are NOT a diesel shop, and we do NOT do a lot of heavy engine or transmission replacements. We focus on maintenance to avoid the BIG engine and transmission repairs
- The Quality Standard: We strictly provide OE-quality repairs using high-quality and OEM parts whenever possible. No cheap knock-offs. No - make it fit or make it work.
Position Requirements (The Non-Negotiables):
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a full automotive technician. While we respect the hustle - experience strictly as a lube tech, tire buster, porter, or apprentice does not qualify for this role. We need someone who has been in the trenches for 3+ years and knows how to defeat the struggles of Midwest rust and standard repair hurdles while also providing attention to detail and quality while limiting/minimizing combacks.
- Reliability: You must be punctual, dependable, and ready to work as part of a high-functioning team.
