Captain – Living Ocean Tours (Waikiki, Hawaii)

Location: Kewalo Basin Harbor, Honolulu, HI
Type: Full-Time /

Pay: $30–$35/hr + tips (typical total earnings $35–$45/hr)

Pay is based on experience and local knowledge

Typical daily earnings: $350–$450+ depending on trips and tips

Living Ocean Tours is a locally owned and operated boat tour company offering unforgettable snorkeling, whale watching, and sunset cruise experiences off the coast of Waikiki. Our crew is passionate about ocean safety, marine life education, and creating memorable, five-star experiences for every guest.

We’re looking for an experienced and customer-focused Captain to join our team and help lead our snorkeling and sightseeing tours at Turtle Canyon—one of the most famous spots in Hawaii for swimming with sea turtles.

Responsibilities

Safely operate our vessels for snorkeling tours, whale watches, and sunset cruises
Manage crew and ensure all safety procedures are followed
Engage with guests and provide excellent customer service with professionalism and enthusiasm
Perform basic vessel maintenance and cleanliness checks
Uphold Living Ocean’s commitment to safety, hospitality, and marine stewardship

Requirements

USCG MMC 50 Ton Near Coastal
FCC Radio Operator License
Valid Medical Certificate
Valid First Aid / CPR Certification
In-person interview in Honolulu required
Must be willing to work weekends and holidays (weekend and holiday load split between all captains so that no one is working every weekend and holiday)
Positive attitude, professional appearance, and strong communication skills
Previous Hawaii snorkel tour or charter experience preferred
