Full Job Description

THIS POSITION WILL FILL IN FOR OUR CURRENT WEEKEND CHEF DURING A TEMPORARY LEAVE OCTOBER and NOVEMBER. With an option to stay on staff after temporary assignment is completed to cover vacations.

TEMPORARY WORK SCHEDULE: The Temporary Weekend Chef will work Friday, Saturday and Sunday 6:30am-2:30pm in October and November. Some flexibility will be required due to nature of position. Weekend hours earn a 9% differential.

ABOUT THE POSITION: The Weekend Chef works Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and may be required to fill in for Executive Chef on as needed basis. The Weekend Chef works with Executive Chef and is responsible for the in-patient food services operations on weekends, creates and updates menus based on patient preferences and individual circumstances of each patient and their family, and carefully monitors patient and family satisfaction. Position may supervise and train food service volunteers and staff. This position requires an understanding of federal, state and local food sanitation regulations and Joint Commission requirements for a facility like the Schneidmiller House.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A high school education or equivalent; AA degree with major concentration in food preparation, management, nutrition or related field preferred. Two-three years of progressive experience in high volume food production or catering and two-three years of experience in menu development, food preparation and working in a team environment are preferred. Valid driver’s license, food handling certificate, personal vehicle for on-the-job transportation, and evidence of insurance coverage as required by HONI policy required.
