Full Job Description

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced and passionate Lead Midwife to be a founding member of a new clinic in the Bay Area’s Peninsula in Northern California.. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of midwifery care and make a real difference in the lives of families. As Lead Midwife, you will provide full-scope midwifery care, lead and mentor a team of midwives, and contribute to the development of our innovative care model.

About you

We are looking for a compassionate and driven midwife who meets all of the following requirements:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Commitment to providing unbiased, patient-centered care.
Commitment to reproductive justice and supporting principles of bodily autonomy, self-determination, and cultural respect.
Eager to join a team that is collaborative and supportive of one another’s needs as we navigate a growing practice and flexible schedules.

Qualifications:

4+ years of experience in full-scope midwifery practice (obstetrics and gynecology).
Proven leadership experience, preferably managing other midwives.
An active Certified Nurse-Midwife license in the state of CA and certification by the AMCB.
NRP and BLS certification.
Skills/training in the following areas are a plus: multilingual, motivational interviewing, lactation certifications, nutrition/diabetes training, cesarean first assist, and/or teaching movement or meditation practices.

Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management:
Interview, hire, and onboard new midwives.
Provide ongoing mentorship and conduct performance reviews.
Develop and maintain clinical partnerships and referral networks.
Operational Development:
Work with the Medical Director, Clinical Director and Operations Leadership to improve internal operational processes and contribute to quality improvement projects.
Build strong referral relationships with local specialists and clinics to advance patient care.
Clinical Care:
Provide full-scope midwifery care at our clinic, hospital partner, and virtually.
Provide basic outpatient gynecology services such as contraception, STIs, vaginitis, and annual well person exams.
Provide medication abortion services and miscarriage management..
Collaborate with other team members (e.g., obstetricians, nurses, doulas, nutritionists, therapists, etc.).
