Job Purpose:

The Housing Navigator at THESSALONIKA FAMILY SERVICES will play a crucial role in assisting individuals and families in securing stable and affordable housing. This position is dedicated to providing guidance and support to clients navigating the housing market, ensuring they have access to the resources and information necessary to make informed decisions about their housing options.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' housing needs and preferences.
Develop individualized housing plans and strategies tailored to each client's situation.
Collaborate with local housing authorities, landlords, and property managers to identify available housing options.
Assist clients in completing housing applications and gathering necessary documentation.
Provide education and counseling on tenant rights, responsibilities, and budgeting for housing expenses.
Monitor and follow up on clients' housing progress, adjusting plans as needed to ensure successful outcomes.
Advocate for clients in negotiations with landlords and housing providers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions and housing progress.
Stay informed about local housing market trends, policies, and resources to enhance service delivery.
Participate in community outreach efforts to promote housing services and build partnerships with relevant stakeholders.

Required Education:

Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Public Administration, or a related field.

Required Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in housing services, social services, or a related field.
Proven track record of working with diverse populations, including low-income individuals and families.
Experience in case management and developing individualized service plans.
Familiarity with local, state, and federal housing resources and regulations.

Required Skills and Abilities:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Proficiency in using case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex situations with empathy and professionalism.
Knowledge of community resources and the ability to effectively connect clients to appropriate services.
