Mechanical Designer – Autodesk Inventor | Heavy Equipment

Premier Coil Solutions is seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer to join our growing Engineering team. If you enjoy designing heavy industrial equipment, solving real-world engineering challenges, and seeing your designs come to life on the manufacturing floor, we'd like to meet you.

As a Mechanical Designer, you'll work alongside an experienced team of engineers to develop innovative equipment, improve existing products, and support projects from concept through manufacturing. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to design equipment that makes a difference in the energy industry.

What You'll Do

Design and develop heavy industrial equipment using Autodesk Inventor and 3D CAD modeling.
Create detailed manufacturing drawings, assemblies, weldments, and bills of material.
Modify existing equipment designs and implement Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).
Collaborate with mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, manufacturing, and production teams to develop practical, manufacturable designs.
Participate in design reviews and assist in bringing new products from concept through production.
Assist engineers with structural analysis, design validation, and product testing.
Support prototype builds, factory acceptance testing, and continuous product improvement initiatives.
Evaluate customer requirements and incorporate design improvements that enhance product performance, manufacturability, reliability, and safety.
Research and implement innovative design solutions while maintaining company engineering standards.
Visit the manufacturing floor to support production and ensure designs are accurately translated into finished products.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

7–10 years of mechanical design experience in a manufacturing, heavy equipment, industrial machinery, oil & gas, construction equipment, or similar environment.
Associate degree, technical certificate, or equivalent experience in Mechanical Design, Drafting, or Engineering Technology.
Experience creating 3D models and manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor or comparable CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, or Solid Edge.
Strong understanding of mechanical drafting standards and manufacturing processes.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple design projects in a collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience designing heavy equipment, industrial machinery, mobile equipment, or custom manufacturing systems.
Experience with weldments, hydraulic systems, structural steel, and fabrication.
Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) or structural calculations.
Oil & gas, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, mining equipment, or similar industry experience is a plus, but not required.
