Duties and Responsibilities
Understand and adhere to all company safety procedures and participate in regular periodic Environmental, Health, and Safety training.
Respond rapidly to equipment issues negatively impacting production and/or safety.
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on a wide array of equipment including motors, pumps, valves, measuring instruments, PLC, centrifuges, heat exchangers, steam-tube dryers, boilers, conveyors, augers, hammer mills, and process tanks and vessels.
Weld metal components together with brazing and various arc and gas welding equipment to fabricate or repair products such as machine parts, plant equipment, structures, motors, and generators.
Performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding.
Repairs broken or cracked parts, fill holes and increases the size of metal parts.
Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.
Perform routine preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
Complete assigned projects including mechanical and electrical equipment upgrades.
Prioritize work through communication with Maintenance Planner, Maintenance Supervisor, and process team.
Manage work and communicate results by utilizing a CMMS system.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Certificate of completion of accredited welding program.
Technical training or previous maintenance-related job experience is preferred.
Possess a strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to moderately loud.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include correctable vision to complete work safely.
