Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Medical Assistant/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This vital role combines front-office administrative support with clinical assistance, ensuring smooth patient flow and delivering exceptional care. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and committed to providing outstanding patient service. You will be supporting clinical tasks such as vital signs collection and basic medical procedures as well as assiting the front desk with patient check-in and check out. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow within a fast-paced medical environment dedicated to excellence in patient care.

Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and facilitate efficient check-in and check-out processes using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and coordinate with healthcare providers to optimize clinic operations.
Collect and record vital signs, assist with patient intake to ensure accurate medical documentation.
Support clinical staff with tasks such as medication administration, specimen collection, and basic physiology assessments.
Maintain comprehensive medical records, update patient charts accurately, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Handle administrative duties including answering phones, managing correspondence.
Assist in managing medical supplies inventory, sterilization procedures, and ensuring a clean and organized clinical environment.

Qualifications

Must be billingual fluent in English and Spanish
Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment; dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient experience is highly preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and EMR/EHR systems.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are advantageous.
Familiarity with, medical documentation standards, and electronic health records management.
Strong patient service skills with excellent communication abilities; capable of handling sensitive situations professionally.
Experience working in hospital settings or Level I/II trauma centers is a plus; inpatient or outpatient experience is valued.
Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
