Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Personnel to join our dynamic finance team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial health of our organization by managing core accounting functions, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting financial reporting processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, familiarity with various financial software, and a passion for accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage.
Prepare journal entries, perform balance sheet reconciliations, and maintain general ledger accuracy in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Conduct account analysis, credit analysis, and account reconciliation to ensure data integrity.
Handle confidential information with discretion while maintaining high standards of data entry accuracy.
Support month-end closing activities, including ledger review and financial statement preparation.
Utilize tools like Microsoft Office Excel for data analysis, spreadsheet management, and financial reporting.
Assist with compliance requirements related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and governmental accounting standards.
Collaborate with internal teams on technical accounting issues and process improvements related to ERP systems such as Workday, PeopleSoft, or UltiPro.

Experience

Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably within public accounting or corporate accounting environments.
Familiarity with financial software including ADP, Kronos, Ceridian, Paychex, or similar platforms is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of accounting concepts such as debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation.
Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data accurately using Excel data analysis techniques.
Excellent numeracy skills combined with a keen attention to detail for precise account management.
Experience handling accounts payable and receivable processes along with customer service skills for internal and external stakeholders.
Knowledge of accounting standards like GAAP and governmental accounting practices is a plus.
Tax returns (Minnesota and Federal)
