Since the hotel business is a 24/7 operation, the ideal candidate will be able to work flexible hours and be willing to work nights (up until 11 PM), weekends and holidays and adhere to work the schedule as issued, has reasonable work experience with a verifiable job history in the hospitality industry with a background in hotel and/or restaurant facilities maintenance (is preferred). We are seeking a person who possesses solid working knowledge and skills in general hotel maintenance which include but are not limited to plumbing, carpentry, painting, basic electrical, and HVAC systems. Being multi lingual is a plus but not required.
We are looking for an individual who is respectful and friendly and enjoys working with others as a team, will go the extra mile to take the proper and timely corrective action(s) necessary when the need arises (and perform scheduled preventive maintenance) to repair and maintain any of our guest rooms, suites, villas, kitchen & dining facilities, pool and public areas, and the property’s entire grounds while providing excellent customer service to our guests. All of the Beachcomber’s team members are expected to be able to work in a fast paced work environment, under pressure with poise, courtesy and professionalism when interacting with our valued guests, fellow employees, management, and ownership and are required to follow all hotel policies and procedures (including but not limited to what is outlined in employee manual). Reliability, flexibility, integrity, attention to detail with regards to the job as well as a being in proper uniform with name tag, having a well groomed appearance and good personal hygiene are a must.
Essential Job Functions:
- Ability to respond and resolve all service order, guest incident orders, PM (Preventive Maintenance) orders reported in Nuvola (our work order tracking software) within established time frames/in a timely manner and properly escalate and communicate issues that require additional time, manpower, materials, and/or skilled trades (i.e. licensed electrician, plumber, etc.).
- Perform General maintenance and up keep of guest rooms, public areas, public restrooms, back of house systems, restaurant areas, kitchen, apartments and apartment buildings, and all grounds areas as needed and/or assigned for the purpose of providing an effective working/learning environment, preventing damage and/or limiting liability exposure.
- Arranges furniture and equipment for the purpose of assuring that all components are in good working condition in all guest rooms, public areas, public restrooms, back of house systems, restaurant areas, kitchen, apartments and apartment buildings, and all grounds areas that are owned and operated by the Beachcomber Resort and Villas.
- Assists skilled maintenance workers with projects (e.g. transporting and/or securing materials, completing specific tasks, etc.) for the purpose of completing projects in a safe, efficient manner.
- Possesses solid working knowledge and skills in general hotel maintenance such as HVAC repairs, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and basic electrical repairs.
- Coordinates with skilled tradesmen and/or assigned supervisor(s) for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently.
- Ability to develop a good working knowledge and effectively operate the Beachcomber’s HotSoS work order management program on both the smart device and desktop software application.
- Ability to install system components/parts to properly maintain all guest rooms, public areas, public restrooms, back of house systems, restaurant areas, kitchen, apartments and apartment buildings, and all grounds areas guest rooms, offices, public areas, equipment and facility components (e.g. lighting, heating and ventilating systems, alarms, plumbing, security, electrical panels, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe working environment.
- Maintains assigned vehicle, tools and equipment for the purpose of ensuring availability in safe operating condition.
- Participates in meetings, workshops, training initiatives, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
- Able to respond to emergency situations during and after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
- Transports a variety of tools, equipment and supplies for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at the Beachcomber Resort and Villas.

The Hotel General Maintenance Technician position does involve working indoors and outdoors (in the south Florida warm weather), standing for extended periods of time, and the ability to lift, push, and/or pull 50+ lbs.
