Summary:

Provides childbirth education to expectant parents.

Responsibilities:
-
Works with a team of educators to teach Childbirth education and other relevant curricula.

Assesses varying learning styles, needs, and theories of populations served and develops population-appropriate curricula.

Collaborates with Birth Center staff and providers to enhance the delivery of services.

Serves as a resource to staff and to class participants to further their learning through referrals to community resources.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements:

Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator

Certified Childbirth Educator

Child Birth Educator

High school diploma or GED.
- Successful completion of Childbirth Education training.

Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provide. Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator (LCCE) or certification from the International Childbirth Education Association (ICEA) or certification of Childbirth Education from the International Doula.

BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
