Overview

Inter-Con Security is hiring Security Officers for transportation and airport operations in Jamaica, NY. We are seeking professional, dependable, and customer-focused individuals who are ready to work in a fast-paced and highly secure environment.

This opportunity is ideal for candidates with prior security, military, law enforcement, airport, or customer service experience.

Pay Rate:
$22.35/hour

Position Type:
Full-Time & Part-Time

Minimum Qualifications:

Valid New York State Security Guard License
Minimum 2 years of qualifying experience in security, military, law enforcement, or related fields
Must be at least 18 years old
Valid Driver’s License required
High School Diploma or GED required
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly

Preferred Qualifications:

Military or airport security experience
Criminal Justice education or coursework
FDNY Fire Guard Certification preferred
Strong customer service and communication skills

Responsibilities:

Observe and report suspicious activity and security concerns
Monitor restricted and secured areas
Conduct access control for personnel and vehicles
Perform patrols, inspections, and perimeter checks
Respond to alarms, incidents, and emergency situations
Prepare detailed incident and activity reports
Provide customer assistance and directional support
Enforce site security procedures and regulations
Assist with crowd management and emergency response situations
Maintain professional appearance and operational readiness at all times

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Ability to climb stairs and patrol large areas
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Ability to respond quickly during emergencies

Requirements:

Must successfully complete background screening and drug testing
Must qualify for airport credentialing and security clearance
Must maintain professional grooming and appearance standards
Must be comfortable interacting with the public in high-traffic environments
