What You Will Be Doing:

This position supports avionics research, development, prototype, production, test, and maintenance activities at the Patuxent Engineering Facility (PEF). This position is for a machinist/tool and die maker technician in the fabrication shop. This position is located in Lexington Park, MD.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Fabrication of panels, enclosures, and prototype and production parts metalwork.

Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, including schematics, assembly drawings and interpreting digital 3D models and determining material requirements as needed to manufacture and assemble components in accordance requirements and engineering direction.

Other tasks as directed by management

Further Information About This Opportunity:

Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. Candidate must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance prior to starting.

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum of five (5) years machinist experience.

Experience with Gibbs CAM and inventor CAM and the ability to create a program from a CAD drawing.

Experience with 3 axis CNC setup and operation

Experience with metal finishing techniques and procedures

Desired Skills:

Familiarity with Shop travelers and production procedures and processes.

Experience with manual lathes and Prototrack mills

HAAS Control

Experience working with Quality Control inspectors and Quality Assurance personnel.

Security Clearance Statement:

This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level:

Secret

Ability to Work Remotely:

Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules:

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position:

4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
The base range for this position in Maryland?is $$37.98 - $52.11.
Benefits Offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, retirement savings plan (including a 401(k) feature), health care spending accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave. SCA employees receive a minimum of 80 hours of vacation and 88 hours of holiday paid time off.? Paid sick leave is up to 56 hours annually.? Paid time off is prorated based on start date during the calendar year. ?This is a general summary and fringe benefits are governed by the contract.
