WHAT'S YOUR DAY LIKE?

As a Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant in Pediatrics at Minden Medical Center, you will begin each day by conducting comprehensive patient assessments, gathering medical histories, and performing physical examinations. Your role will include interpreting diagnostic tests and collaborating with cardiologists to develop effective treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs. You will provide patient education on pediatric health, medications, preventive care, and age-appropriate wellness practices, fostering a strong patient-provider relationship with children and their families. Daily responsibilities will also involve documenting patient interactions in our electronic health record system, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. You will participate in team meetings to discuss patient progress and innovative practices, and engage in continuous learning to stay updated on cardiology advancements.

WHAT MATTERS MOST

To thrive as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant in Pediatrics at Busy Bee you will need a solid foundation of clinical skills and knowledge. An active Louisiana APRN or PA license is essential, along with the appropriate certifications through organizations such as ANCC or NCCPA. Familiarity with collaborative practice agreements is vital, as you will work closely with licensed physicians.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

Active Louisiana APRN license with Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) designation
National certification through ANCC or AANP
Collaborative Practice Agreement with a licensed physician as required by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing
Current DEA license if prescribing controlled substances
OR
Active Louisiana PA license with Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners (LSBME)
Current National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Collaborative Practice Agreement with a licensed physician as required by the Louisiana State Board of Medicine
