Full Job Description

SUMMARY: The PAS Supervisor is responsible for Quality Assurance of services provided in the home as well as relationship management of clients and PCAs for quality purposes. The PAS Supervisor works closely with the Administrator in organizing and coordinating functions of the program, delegating duties, and establishing formal means of accountability on part of the PAS attendant field staff.

Full-Time Mon-Fri 8a-5p. Position will cover San Antonio and New Braunfels area.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Provides supervisory oversight to Personal Care Attendants

· Ensure appropriate staffing to meet client’s needs and Individualized Service Plan

· Complete/document all Supervisory Visits in compliance with PAS Policies/Procedures.

· Orient Personal Care Attendants to new assignments and clients' needs.

· Responsible for supervising, training, and mentoring attendants.

· Evaluate and determine attendant's competency to perform tasks.

· Informs attendants, clients and their families about program rules and agency policies Receives and acts to resolve complaints made by client/family and/or attendants

· Documents information about client services, issues and resolutions

· Completes required work documentation, processes and procedures.

· Notifies authorized family members and or physicians of significant changes in client physical, mental or environmental safety.

· Responsible for orienting clients and attendants on EVV policies and procedures during admission and hire

· Assist Administrator/Alt. Administrator in survey by the state

· Establish mutual goal setting and achievement standards for client’s needs

· Assure confidentiality of all client, physician, and propriety information

· Collecting, reviewing, and ensuring proper completion of timesheets, program data reporting, and other reports/documentation as required.

· Providing after-hours support to the Staffing Support Specialist on a rotating basis.

· Participating in program weekly huddles and completing case audits as they are due.

· Auditing of client files to insure compliance with all contracts.

· Documents all client and PCA communications in RSO.

· Participates in community activities and education opportunities.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Supervise Personal Care Attendants in the Primary Homecare Program

Qualifications/Experience:

· Effective written and verbal communications in English, bi-lingual in Spanish is required.

· Must possess strong interviewing, counseling, leadership, management, planning and organizational skills.

· Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle with current insurance and registration.

· Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

· Extensive telephone use is required.

· Local car travel is required.

· Must read, write and speak fluent English.

Education:

· Completion of two (2) years at an accredited college or university or may substitute each year of college with supervisory experience at a Health Care facility, Home Care Agency or Community Agency.

· Minimum High School / G.E.D.

Language skills:

· Bilingual is required; English and Spanish

· Basic computer skills preferred.

Licenses:

· Valid State Driver’s License with good driving record.

Physical Requirements:

· Visual/hearing ability sufficient to comprehend written/oral communication.

· Ability to deal effectively with stress.

· Use hands to grip or feel.

· Reach with hands and arms.

· Occasionally required to bend, stoop and kneel.

· Frequently required to stand on one’s feet for a long period of time.

· Ability to deal effectively with stress.

Working Conditions:

· Works in office areas as well as in client homes and in assisted and independent living facilities. Interacts with clients, family members, staff, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions/circumstances.

· Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset clients, family members, staff, visitors, etc. under all conditions/circumstances.

· May be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc.

· Communicates with medical staff, nursing staff, and other unit supervisors.

· Maintains a liaison with residents, their families, support staff, etc. to assure that the residents’ needs are continually met.

· Risk level- Low
