Full Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Sets up and operate milling machines to machine aluminum and trim composite parts to meet customer’s tolerances and dimensions. Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications. Uses a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments. Makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds. Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining. Will monitor and verify quality in accordance with company standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

SUB TOPIC:

· Responsible for ensuring proper documentation is entered on manufacturing orders (including correct quantities & specification recording).

Ensure parts and tools are loaded correctly and that quality is consistently maintained throughout the assignment.
Understand proper setup and use of tooling associated with machines.
Change and adjust cutters as required to ensure quality and tolerance requirements have been met. Ensure machinery and tools are adequately maintained and serviced.
The ability to know when to stop and ask for clarification.
Observe and implement Lean Manufacturing methods in all job assignments.
Perform other duties as assigned.

SUB TOPIC:

Demonstrate high skill level with the desire for continuous learning.
Precise accurate trimming ability. Attention to detail and a meticulous eye.

· Knowledge of general machining processes using a wide variety of machine tools.

· Understanding of CNC type machines and the processes they use, such as set-ups, monitoring, change-outs, etc.

· Know how to maintain a clean and orderly work area.

· Blueprint reading and basic math skills.

· Good manual dexterity.

· Ability to stand for long durations of time.

· Ability to work in noisy environments that require ear protection and respirator use.

· Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.

· Ability to professionally communicate and work cooperatively with others.

Team player, actively participating in continuous improvement projects with coworkers.
Self-motivation, able to accomplish high level of work.

· Basic English language skills and ability to read, follow, and interpret work instructions.

· Work well independently or within a team in a positive collaborative manner.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

· Minimum of 1-2 of 3-axis Machining experience preferred but not required.

· Experience with Mastercam a plus.

· Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with co-management, and vendors.

· Ability to anticipate and solve practical problems.

· Proficient use of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and ERP/accounting software experience required. #INDP

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
