Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Lathe Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, programming, and optimizing CNC lathe operations to produce high-precision metal components. Your expertise will ensure efficient machining processes, adherence to tight tolerances, and continuous improvement in production quality.

Duties

Develop and write CNC lathe programs using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software, ensuring compatibility with Fanuc control systems.
Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings, applying GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards for precise manufacturing.
Set up CNC lathes, including tooling selection, fixture installation, and calibration to optimize machining accuracy and efficiency.
Operate 5-axis CNC machines and other multi-axis lathes to produce complex components with high precision.
Perform precision measurements using bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments for quality control.
Troubleshoot machining issues related to geometry, tooling, or programming errors; implement corrective actions promptly.
Collaborate with engineering teams on CAD design modifications using SolidWorks or CATIA to improve part manufacturability.
Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, and inspection reports; adhere to lean manufacturing principles for waste reduction.

Skills

Proficiency in CNC programming for lathe operations with Fanuc controls; experience with CNC milling machines is a plus.
Strong knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA for designing and modifying parts.
Expertise in CAM software for creating efficient toolpaths tailored for metal machining processes.
Deep understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, and mechanical blueprint interpretation aligned with GD&T standards.
Mechanical knowledge related to machining tools setup, tooling selection, and fixture design.
Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) techniques and measurement tools like bore gauges and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices to streamline processes and improve productivity.
Ability to perform precise measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, micrometers, and other measurement instruments for quality assurance.
Strong math skills essential for programming calculations and measurement analysis in engineering contexts.
