Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Commercial Department Manager to lead our retail and sales operations. This leadership role requires a strategic thinker with strong management skills, excellent communication abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of retail sales, inventory control, and team development. The ideal candidate will oversee daily store functions, drive sales growth, and ensure exceptional customer service standards across multiple locations. This position offers an opportunity to shape the success of our commercial activities while fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Duties

Lead and supervise the retail team, including hiring, training, and evaluating staff to ensure high performance and professional development.
Manage daily store operations, including inventory management, merchandising, stocking, and POS systems to optimize sales and operational efficiency.
Oversee customer service initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty through effective communication and problem resolution.
Develop and implement sales strategies, pricing policies, and marketing campaigns to meet revenue targets.
Conduct employee orientation sessions, training & development programs, and performance reviews to promote team growth.
Handle payroll processing, bookkeeping, cash handling, and shift management to ensure accurate financial records.
Manage purchasing decisions, inventory control, and stock levels to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
Utilize management skills in budgeting, sales management, retail math, and organizational planning to support store objectives.
Engage in negotiation with suppliers and vendors to secure favorable terms while maintaining strong professional relationships.
Monitor store compliance with company policies and safety regulations; implement improvements as needed.
Assist in recruiting efforts through interviewing candidates and assessing fit for various roles within the department.
Support marketing efforts by coordinating promotional activities and ensuring effective store presentation.

Qualifications

Valid NC Property & Casualty License
Proven management experience in retail or grocery store environments with supervisory responsibilities.
Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability in team management, training & development, and employee supervision.
Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for diverse customer engagement.
Proficiency in POS systems, retail software applications, bookkeeping, payroll processing, inventory management software, and retail math.
Experience in negotiating with vendors, purchasing decisions, pricing strategies, merchandising, stock control, and marketing campaigns.
Ability to handle cash handling accurately while maintaining excellent phone etiquette and organizational skills.
Strong background in sales management, store management, shift supervision, budgeting, and administrative tasks.
Knowledge of wireless sales or related product lines is advantageous but not required.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities effectively with strong time management skills. This role is ideal for a motivated leader passionate about retail operations who thrives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of customer service excellence.
