Full Job Description

Are you a numbers pro who loves leading a team, ensuring financial stability, and making a real impact? Moyle Construction, the region’s leader in design-build construction, seeks an experienced Financial Controller to join their team in Houghton, Michigan or the surrounding area.

Moyle takes pride in their work and their people. As a full-service construction company, we believe in teamwork, growth, and doing things the right way. As our Financial Controller, you’ll play a key role in keeping our company financially strong while supporting our growing team.

WHAT WE OFFER.

$70,000 – $105,000 annual starting salary based on your experience.
Discretionary bonus based on personal contributions and company results.
Health insurance including dental and vision coverage; family plans available.
401(k) retirement plan with company match.
Paid time off.
Monday-Friday in-office position with flexible schedule.
Relocation assistance, if needed.

WHAT YOU WILL DO.

Lead and mentor a small team (2-4 staff members).
Oversee accounts receivable, billing, collections & vendor payments.
Monitor cash flow and ensure financial accuracy.
Prepare and review monthly financial statements.
Work with leadership to track project costs, financial performance, and budgetary items.
Review, procure and manage business and health insurance programs.
Assist with employee benefits and retirement plan administration.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.

Strong leadership and communication skills.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in financial reporting & accounting functions required. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Management, Finance, or a related field preferred; Master’s degree a bonus.
Accounting experience in the construction industry a bonus.
Knowledge of business insurance, 401(k), and employee benefits.
Ability to juggle multiple priorities with a positive attitude.
A detail-oriented, problem-solving mindset is essential.
