Overview:
The Market Intelligence Specialist will support American Jereh’s market development strategy by researching customers, competitors, market trends, equipment demand, energy activity, regional opportunities, and commercial intelligence across North America.
This role is responsible for turning external market information into usable internal insight for sales, leadership, product strategy, customer targeting, and business planning. The position will focus on oilfield equipment, pressure pumping, E-Frac, turbine frac, frac spread equipment, pumps, flowline products, wellhead equipment, drilling equipment, cementing equipment, nitrogen equipment, hot oil and water equipment, spare parts, service, and refurbishment opportunities.
American Jereh positions itself as a global petroleum equipment manufacturer providing customized products and integrated solutions, with Houston and Midland locations supporting sales and service activity in the North American market. This role will help leadership understand where customer demand, competitor movement, equipment replacement cycles, service needs, and growth opportunities are developing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research market activity, customer movement, competitor activity, equipment demand, project announcements, fleet expansion, asset replacement needs, and regional oilfield activity.
- Build and maintain target customer lists across operators, pressure pumping companies, oilfield service companies, equipment rental providers, EPCs, distributors, industrial customers, and service organizations.
- Monitor market trends related to hydraulic fracturing, electric frac, turbine frac, natural gas-powered equipment, pressure pumping, drilling, well servicing, aftermarket parts, refurbishment, and field service demand.
- Track competitor offerings, equipment positioning, pricing signals, product launches, service capability, customer wins, hiring activity, facility expansion, and regional sales movement.
- Prepare market reports, customer profiles, competitor summaries, sales intelligence briefings, opportunity maps, and leadership-ready business updates.
- Support sales and market development teams by identifying new customer targets, expansion opportunities, cross-sell opportunities, and service or parts demand.
- Gather information from industry publications, public databases, customer websites, trade shows, LinkedIn, energy market reports, procurement portals, regulatory filings, and field-level business intelligence.
- Support account planning by researching customer fleets, operating regions, equipment types, service needs, procurement behavior, leadership contacts, and purchasing history where available.
- Provide intelligence to support sales campaigns tied to E-Frac, turbine frac, frac spread, plunger pumps, flowline, coiled tubing, drilling, cementing, nitrogen, hot oil and water equipment, wellhead equipment, spare parts, and after-sales service.
- Identify customer pain points related to downtime, maintenance cost, emissions, operational efficiency, fuel usage, equipment mobility, field service support, and fleet modernization.
- Work with sales leadership to prioritize target accounts based on market potential, equipment fit, customer need, timing, and strategic value.
- Support trade show planning, customer visit preparation, regional market analysis, and business development campaign targeting.
- Maintain organized intelligence databases, spreadsheets, market maps, customer profiles, competitor trackers, and opportunity reports.
- Help leadership make better commercial decisions by converting market noise into clear, practical, and timely business insight.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Energy Management, Data Analytics, Engineering Technology, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
- 2 or more years of experience in market research, business analysis, sales operations, commercial intelligence, business development support, data analysis, or customer research.
- Strong research ability with experience gathering, organizing, validating, and summarizing business information from multiple sources.
- Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams skills.
- Ability to prepare clear market summaries, customer profiles, competitor comparisons, and leadership-facing reports.
- Ability to work with sales, leadership, service, operations, engineering, and product teams to understand what information is commercially useful.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to separate relevant business intelligence from general market information.
- Ability to manage multiple research projects, deadlines, and leadership requests at the same time.
- Comfortable working in a technical industrial environment with products, customers, and market language tied to oilfield equipment and energy services.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in oilfield services, pressure pumping, hydraulic fracturing, drilling, energy equipment, manufacturing, power generation, industrial equipment, or technical service markets.
- Familiarity with market research tools, CRM systems, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, industry databases, energy publications, procurement platforms, company filings, or business intelligence tools.
- Understanding of customer segments such as operators, pressure pumping companies, oilfield service companies, drilling contractors, equipment rental providers, EPCs, distributors, and aftermarket service customers.
- Ability to analyze competitor product positioning, equipment specifications, market share indicators, customer activity, and regional opportunity trends.
- Experience building dashboards, customer target lists, market maps, account plans, competitor trackers, or sales intelligence reports.
- Bilingual English and Mandarin is a plus due to coordination with global leadership, manufacturing, engineering, and product strategy teams.
- Ability to connect market research directly to sales action, customer targeting, leadership planning, and revenue opportunity.
