Overview
Join our team as an Independent Contractor – NEMT Driver (Wheelchair Van) and become a vital part of providing safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation services for individuals with mobility needs. This role offers the flexibility of independent contracting while making a meaningful difference in the community. You will operate specialized wheelchair-accessible vans, ensuring passengers arrive safely and comfortably to their destinations. Your dedication to excellent customer service and professional driving will help us deliver exceptional transit experiences every day.

Schedule: 24/7 Availability – Flexible Shifts

Responsibilities

Safely operate wheelchair vans and other commercial vehicles to transport clients to medical appointments, community events, or other destinations.
Assist passengers with boarding, securing mobility devices, and exiting vehicles with care and respect.
Conduct routine vehicle inspections, maintenance checks, and ensure cleanliness of the van before and after each shift.
Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies to guarantee passenger safety at all times.
Communicate effectively with clients, dispatchers, and team members to coordinate schedules and address any concerns promptly.
Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, and vehicle condition in compliance with company standards.
Provide exceptional customer service by demonstrating professionalism, patience, and empathy during every interaction.

Skills

Proven experience in shuttle driving, delivery driving, bus driving, or similar roles involving passenger transport.
Familiarity with paratransit services, heavy lifting requirements, and commercial driving regulations.
Experience operating wheelchair accessible vehicles or similar specialized transportation equipment.
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with diverse clients and team members.
Ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and identify minor repairs or issues.
Knowledge of safety procedures related to heavy lifting, securement of mobility devices, and passenger assistance.
Valid driver’s license appropriate for commercial or passenger transport vehicles; <PERSON> driver certification preferred. Embark on a rewarding journey where your driving skills make a real impact!
