Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Custom Tailor & Alterations Specialist to join our dynamic fashion retail team. In this role, you will bring garments to life by expertly tailoring and altering clothing to meet our customers’ unique styles and fit preferences. Your craftsmanship will ensure every piece looks impeccable, fits perfectly, and exceeds customer expectations. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a love for fashion, sewing, and delivering outstanding customer service to make a real impact in a vibrant retail environment.

please note: we are looking for the BEST tailors (MASTER TAILOR) Houston has to offer ( English or Spanish )

Duties

Perform garment sewing, hand sewing, and stitching to alter or create custom apparel according to customer specifications.
Operate pressing machines and press operation tools to achieve crisp seams, smooth finishes, and professional presentation of garments.
Measure clients accurately using basic math skills to determine necessary adjustments for perfect fit.
Consult with customers to understand their needs, provide expert advice on alterations, and ensure satisfaction with finished products.
Use sewing machines and garment construction techniques to modify clothing items efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
Handle pressing, finishing, and quality checks on all altered or custom-made garments before delivery.
Maintain a clean, organized workspace while adhering to safety procedures related to press operation and sewing equipment.

Qualifications

Previous experience in fashion retail or garment alterations is highly preferred.
Skilled in garment sewing, hand sewing, stitching, and the use of sewing machines.
Familiarity with pressing machines and press operation techniques.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
Knowledge of garment construction processes and fabric handling.
Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and adjustments accurately.
Enthusiasm for fashion, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional quality.
