Full Job Description

Security Specialist – Houston, TX 77064
$20–$25/hr

Effex Management Solutions is seeking an experienced Security Specialist to help lead physical and technical security operations at our Houston facility. If you have a background in security, law enforcement, or the military and are ready to take the next step, this role offers real responsibility and room to grow.

What You'll Do:

Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
Support management of security technology (alarms, access systems, CCTV support)
Perform physical security checks and patrols
Assist with incident response and investigations
Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures
Collaborate with CCTV, Badging, and Loss Prevention teams
Be available for on-call support as needed

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED (Associate's or Bachelor's in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related field preferred)
2+ years of progressive experience in physical security, corporate security, or law enforcement/military background
Strong knowledge of security systems (access control, CCTV, alarms, intrusion detection)
Experience conducting security audits and vulnerability assessments
Ability to pass a criminal background check (no felonies) and pre-employment drug screening
Reliable transportation
Strong report writing and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

1–2 years of supervisory experience leading or mentoring security personnel
Security certifications (CPP, PSP, ASIS credentials)
Level 3 DPS License
Experience with integrated security platforms
Prior experience in a warehouse, distribution, or industrial environment
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
