Title: Clinical Pharmacist – Hospital / Inpatient

Fort Walton beach, FL | Full-Time | Day Shift | Rotating Weekends

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Clinical Pharmacist to join an acute-care hospital pharmacy team. This opportunity is ideal for a pharmacist who enjoys direct clinical involvement, interdisciplinary collaboration, medication management, and contributing to safe, evidence-based patient care.

We welcome experienced Hospital Pharmacists, Clinical Pharmacists, Inpatient Pharmacists, Staff Pharmacists, and PGY1-trained Pharmacists who are looking to grow their careers in an acute-care setting.

The ideal candidate is a strong team player who takes initiative, communicates effectively with physicians and healthcare professionals, and is interested in building a long-term career in hospital pharmacy.

Compensation: $52–$64/hour (heavily based on the experience)

Additional shift differentials may apply:

2nd Shift: +$2.00/hour
3rd Shift: +$4.25/hour
Extra Shift Premium: +$3.00/hour

Compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, and applicable position requirements.

Schedule:

Days | 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Four 10-hour shifts per week
Rotating weekends
Every 3rd weekend
Holiday rotation may apply

What You'll Do:

Interpret, verify, and accurately enter medication orders into the pharmacy information system.
Compound and dispense medications accurately and efficiently.
Review medication regimens for appropriate drug selection and dosing.
Monitor for drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, contraindications, allergies, and potential medication-related problems.
Promote safe and rational medication therapy.
Support formulary management and appropriate therapeutic interchange.
Provide timely and accurate medication information to physicians, nurses, healthcare professionals, patients, and families.
Participate in clinical pharmacy services including:
Drug information consultations
Pharmacokinetic monitoring
Anticoagulation management
Pain management
Nutrition support
IV-to-PO conversion
Renal dose adjustments
Medication therapy optimization
Document clinical interventions and pharmacy activities accurately.
Review and report medication errors and adverse drug reactions according to established procedures.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
Support pharmacy operations and provide clinical and operational assistance to the pharmacy team.
Maintain current knowledge of medications, clinical guidelines, pharmacy regulations, and evidence-based practices.
Participate in quality improvement and medication-safety initiatives.

Qualifications Required:

B.S. in Pharmacy or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.
Active pharmacist license in good standing with the Florida Board of Pharmacy or eligibility to obtain Florida licensure.
Strong clinical knowledge and medication-management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
1+ year of hospital/acute-care pharmacy experience required.
PGY1 Pharmacy Residency completion will be considered in lieu of hospital experience.
Experience with clinical pharmacy services and inpatient medication management.
Strong interest in long-term growth within hospital pharmacy.
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team environment.
