Full Job Description

Red Rock Companies is a St. George based holding company with about 90 employees across five business lines: vacation rental management, long-term property management, a real estate brokerage with 350+ agents, builder and development sales teams, and a commercial laundry. We run on EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System), which means clear accountability, a steady rhythm, and measurable results - you will always know what you own and how it's going.

We're building out our accounting team, and this seat is the backbone of it.

We are a fast-paced and employee-focused company with a unique team-oriented atmosphere. We are ready to bring on an exceptional team member looking to grow in their accounting career.

Responsibilities

Complete monthly bank reconciliations for all assigned Red Rock entities and promptly research and resolve discrepancies.
Complete credit card reconciliations and verify appropriate documentation and account coding.
Prepare monthly journal entries and maintain supporting balance-sheet schedules.
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets and profit-and-loss statements, for review by the Accounting Manager.
Review accounting records, investigate discrepancies, and complete appropriate corrections.
Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable activity and follow up on unresolved or past-due items.
Maintain the chart of accounts and recommend changes for approval.
Maintain organized and complete accounting records and supporting documentation.
Prepare and distribute annual Forms 1099 for company entities and assigned properties or assets.
Manage day-to-day accounting and month-end responsibilities for several related entities.
Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
Provide guidance and accounting support to the Accounting Specialist as assigned.

Skills

Working knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop
Proficient in Google Applications and Microsoft Excel
Proactive and detail-oriented team player
Excellent communication (via email, phone, and in person)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Multi-entity accounting experience preferred

Qualifications

1+ years accounting experience (required)
Bachelor's degree in accounting
Ability to carry a defined list of recurring monthly tasks without missing deadlines
Ability to work independently and take ownership
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. This position cannot be done remotely.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
