Full Job Description

Overview
Pinkerton’s is a niche bakery in the historic upstate city Kingston, NY. Led by James Beard award winning Pastry Chef Angela Pinkerton, our menu features a wide range of nostalgic desserts, morning pastries, and sweet/savory cakes and pies, as well as a small menu of breakfast, and lunch items. We always bake from 100% from scratch, using a majority of local, and seasonal ingredients.

The Production Lead will have at least three years of experience in quality kitchens that make food from scratch, and in house. The position will work 32-40 hours per week with a starting pay rate of $18/hr plus tips, but is really based on experience ( average $5+ additional tip income per hour.) This is a full time position for someone who loves baking and is ready to grow into a leadership position.

You will work directly with chef to help oversee the team organization, maintain production and the flow of the daily tasks. Responsibilities will include mixing and baking morning pastries, venoisserie, breads, cakes, pies, cookies, etc., as well a preparing raw products, fillings, and custards. Lamination and menu creation will be worked into your schedule as you grow into the team. Doing dishes and maintaining a clean and organized workspace is a part of everyone's daily tasks. High cleanliness standards are a nonnegotiable.

Candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills, be organized and proactive, with the ability to work well under pressure while maintaining high standards. You must be able to lift up to 50 lb, stand for long periods of time, communicate effectively in English, and have reliable transportation to Kingston, NY.
