Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our team in a fast-paced dining environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service management and possess exceptional leadership skills. This role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring high standards of customer service, and managing staff to create an efficient and enjoyable dining experience for our guests.

Responsibilities

Assist the General Manager in daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth service and adherence to company policies.
Supervise and train staff, fostering a positive work environment while promoting teamwork and collaboration.
Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels to ensure efficient operation.
Handle cash management duties, including cash handling procedures and reconciliation at the end of shifts.
Oversee food preparation and ensure compliance with food safety standards, maintaining high-quality culinary output.
Utilize Toast POS system for order processing and sales tracking.
Conduct interviews and participate in the hiring process for new staff members.
Implement training and development programs for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Monitor customer service levels, addressing any issues promptly to ensure guest satisfaction.
Assist in budgeting processes, contributing to financial planning and cost control measures.

Requirements

Proven experience in restaurant management or as an Assistant Manager within the food industry.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams).
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen management, and food safety regulations.
Experience with cash handling and inventory control practices.
Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is preferred.
Excellent leadership skills with a focus on team management and development.
Strong customer service orientation with the ability to handle guest inquiries effectively.
Background in a fine dining environment is a plus.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a positive atmosphere.
