As a company, we provide support services to government entities, primarily focusing on wild-land forest fire suppression efforts. We utilize a large variety of equipment, and the timely delivery and reliability of this equipment is imperative to aiding these natural disasters. What is the job?
We are hiring individuals with a strong working knowledge in the Audio / Visual media field, including but not limited to; setting up and operating audio & video systems for in-person, virtual, and large gathering-style events. This role will be focused on the setup, strike, and operation of general AV equipment.
Technicians must be able to modify the audio-visual needs based on real-time customer feedback. Technician should be able to set up a basic to intermediate sound system, a basic LED screen system, and basic video streaming system.
This job will require you to be on the road in several states throughout the Western US with little to no home time during peak wildfire season. Overnights (Sometimes days/weeks)will be needed/required at fire camps, where no hotels are available (meals, showers, & sleeping accommodations are provided at fire camps.)
What are the details?
- This position requires the ability to respond to work assignments with short notice, and to remain on assignment for extended periods of time which may include working long shifts multiple days in a row
- Load and transport inventory and equipment using Company truck/trailer and unload at the fire camp sites
- On site set up, operate, and strike A/V equipment, including audio & video systems.
- Work with an on site A/V team, manage associated tasks while identifying additional gear needs to contribute to the success of the event, and provide proper maintenance and storage of equipment
- Operate related AV technologies required for the job, i.e. conference room meetings, video conference-based events, and large stage conference briefings.
- Operate and troubleshoot most AV equipment and systems, such as: LED video walls, Black-magic ATEM systems, PTZ/Fixed/Mobile Camera Systems, Switching / routing / interfacing technology, Videoconferencing & Audio conferencing technologies.
What do we need from you?
- Positive, professional image, punctual, and a clear communicator with the ability to work independently and with little oversight while utilizing a positive customer service driven approach
- Proficient with Microsoft Teams and Zoom, and other streaming services such as youtube live and facebook live
- Up-to-date awareness of AV and IT technologies and their features, including digital consoles operations
- Must be dependable and available to Drive OTR and to stay overnight and on site at Fire Camps as determined by the job
- Must be able to operate a flat bed truck with a large trailer loaded with equipment while driving in mountainous terrain for extended periods of time
- Ability to stand, climb, reach, bend, twist, lift, push, & pull throughout complete shifts.
- Ability to work in remote forest environments which include extreme high and low temperatures, rain, snow, and heavy smoke.
- Experience/Technical School in the event industry
- Hyper-focused on quality and details with a flexible attitude
- Available to be away from home with little notice, staying at fire camps, sometimes in a tent.
- Willing to assist with all aspects of fulfillment from truck, load, setup, strike, and unload
- Willingness to wear many hats and learn new skill sets required in a small business setting
- Willing to work outside during the summer months
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, and pivot last minute - adaptable to change
Valid Driver’s License/ Satisfactory Driving History - This position requires driving a company-provided vehicle. Our non-CDL vehicles are still classified as CMVs (Commercial Motor Vehicles) and while they do not require a CDL, you are required to comply with our policies and procedures which are dictated by the FMSCA & DOT. Therefore, you must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, prior employment verification (if applicable), and possess/maintain a current, valid driver's license. Offer of employment is contingent upon meeting all minimum qualifications, including the motor vehicle history check requirement. You will be required to submit to mandatory immediate drug & alcohol screening in case of an accident, as required by law.
