We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst to support both sales operations and project management functions within a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for collecting, organizing, analyzing, and maintaining data used for project tracking, sales reporting, forecasting, estimating, and operational decision-making. The ideal candidate will work with sales, project managers, operations, and leadership to ensure data accuracy, identify trends and red flags, and provide actionable insights.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform front-end data analysis for sales and project management activities
- Develop, maintain, and improve sales tracking and project management templates
- Monitor project performance metrics, estimates at completion (EAC), budgets, schedules, and forecasting data
- Collect, organize, validate, and summarize data from multiple departments and systems
- Ensure all required project and sales data is complete, accurate, and submitted on time
- Coordinate with project managers, sales teams, production, quality, engineering, operations, and leadership to obtain missing or incomplete information
- Identify data discrepancies, trends, risks, and operational red flags and communicate findings to management
- Generate reports, dashboards, and visual summaries to support business decisions
- Maintain data integrity and support ongoing data management processes
- Analyze sales performance, project costs, productivity metrics, and operational KPIs
- Assist with process improvement initiatives related to reporting, tracking, and data collection
- Support management with forecasting, budgeting, and operational reporting needs
- Create and maintain documentation for reporting processes and data procedures
- Assist with implementation and optimization of tracking tools and reporting systems
Minimum Qualifications/Experience:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Finance, Engineering, Project Management, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in data analysis, project coordination, sales support, or manufacturing operations preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI or other reporting and data visualization platforms preferred
- Experience with ERP systems, project tracking software, or manufacturing databases is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively with teams
- Ability to identify trends, inconsistencies, risks, and process improvement opportunities
- Ability to handle confidential business and financial information

Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet – typical of what is generally found in an office setting. The manufacturing environment is typical of that type of setting – employees may be exposed to inclement weather, loud noises, tripping hazards; and there may be exposure to sparks, welding arc, open flame, and moving equipment.
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Looker to visualize key performance metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to gather requirements and deliver timely data solutions.
- Design and implement data models and database structures utilizing Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and SQL databases for efficient data storage and retrieval.
- Perform ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes with tools like Talend and scripting languages such as Python, R, Bash (Unix shell), and VBA to prepare data for analysis.
- Conduct comprehensive data analysis using Excel data analysis techniques to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies that inform business strategies.
- Manage query development and optimization within SQL environments to ensure accurate reporting and dashboarding.
- Support the software development lifecycle analysis by participating in SDLC activities related to data projects while ensuring adherence to best practices in database design and business intelligence.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with SQL query management, database design, and data modeling techniques.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools including Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of ETL processes using Talend or equivalent tools; experience with Python or R for data manipulation is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies and SDLC principles related to analytics projects.
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle databases, VBA scripting, Bash (Unix shell), and Visio for process mapping.
- Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets into clear insights for business decision-making.
- Experience working within Business Intelligence frameworks for reporting automation and dashboard development.
- Strong business analysis skills coupled with effective communication abilities to collaborate across teams effectively.
