Clinical Research Coordinator

Treasure Valley Medical Research
Location: Boise, Idaho
Job Type: Full-time

Job Summary

Treasure Valley Medical Research is seeking a motivated and dependable Clinical Research Coordinator to join our growing research team. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for a medical assistant or healthcare professional who is interested in beginning or expanding a career in clinical research.

The Clinical Research Coordinator will help manage the day-to-day activities of clinical trials while ensuring that study procedures are completed accurately, safely, and in accordance with study protocols. The ideal candidate will have strong medical assistant skills, experience performing blood draws and ECGs, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to communicate professionally with study participants and research staff.

Previous clinical research experience is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate daily clinical trial activities under the direction of the Principal Investigator and research team.
Review study protocols and ensure required procedures are completed within protocol guidelines.
Communicate with potential and enrolled study participants by phone, text, email, and in person.
Conduct participant prescreening and assist with scheduling study visits.
Obtain and document medical histories, current medications, and other study-related information.
Perform blood draws, process laboratory samples, and prepare specimens for shipment.
Perform ECGs, vital signs, and other clinical assessments.
Assist with informed consent discussions and ensure required documentation is completed.
Maintain accurate and timely participant records, source documents, and electronic research data.
Enter study information into clinical trial management systems and sponsor databases.
Track participant visits, study procedures, medications, and follow-up requirements.
Communicate with investigators, sponsors, monitors, laboratories, and other research partners.
Assist with monitoring visits, audits, and regulatory inspections.
Maintain participant privacy and follow HIPAA, Good Clinical Practice, and company policies.
Monitor study supplies and help ensure equipment is maintained and ready for use.
Perform additional clinical and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Medical Assistant certification or equivalent clinical training preferred.
Experience performing venipuncture and blood draws required.
Experience performing ECGs required.
Previous experience in clinical research strongly preferred.
Familiarity with vital signs, medication documentation, and medical terminology.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to follow detailed protocols and maintain accurate documentation.
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet study deadlines.
Comfortable working with electronic medical records, databases, and other computer systems.
Professional, compassionate, and comfortable working directly with research participants.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications

At least one year of medical assistant or patient-care experience.
Experience coordinating clinical research studies or working at a research site.
Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice, FDA regulations, and HIPAA requirements.
Experience processing, packaging, and shipping laboratory specimens.
Experience with clinical trial management systems or electronic data-capture platforms.
