Medical Billing Specialist — Psychiatric Clinic

About Us

Autumn Leaves Psychiatry is a small, husband-and-wife, female and veteran-owned psychiatric clinic in Idaho Falls offering medication management, TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation), and Spravato/esketamine treatment. We're looking for an experienced medical biller to join our team and take ownership of our billing operations.

About the Role

We need a full-cycle medical billing specialist to manage claims, payments, AR, and—importantly—insurance appeals. This isn't a high-volume, routine-claims role; our services (TMS and Spravato in particular) involve prior authorizations, specialty payer rules, and ongoing appeals work. If you enjoy problem-solving denials and untangling payer issues rather than just processing claims, this role is a great fit.

What You'll Do

Submit and track claims through AdvancedMD and Availity
Post payments and reconcile ERAs/EOBs
Manage accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid/underpaid claims
Prepare and file prior authorizations and multi-level appeals
Handle billing for TMS and Spravato/esketamine services, including specialty payer and REMS-related requirements
Resolve coordination-of-benefits issues and out-of-area/BlueCard claims
Communicate directly with payers (including Regence, GEHA, TriWest, PacificSource, Highmark, and others) on contracting and payment disputes
Maintain CPT/ICD-10 coding accuracy and compliance
Answer patient billing questions

What We're Looking For

2+ years of medical billing experience (behavioral health or specialty practice experience strongly preferred)
Comfort with prior authorizations and multi-level appeals — this is a core part of the role, not an occasional task
Strong written communication skills for appeal letters and payer correspondence
Detail-oriented, self-directed, and comfortable owning a process end-to-end
CPB certification or similar a plus, not required
