Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, and assisting in various medical procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and vital signs, as well as experience in caregiving and hospice care.

Duties

Provide direct patient care, ensuring comfort and safety for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Assist healthcare professionals with medical procedures and documentation of medical records.
Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems such as Epic.
Collaborate with nursing staff to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
Educate patients and families on health management and available resources.
Uphold strict confidentiality regarding patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance caregiving skills.

Requirements

Proven experience in caregiving or patient care settings, preferably working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in hospice care.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
Proficiency in monitoring vital signs and understanding their implications for patient health.
Familiarity with electronic medical records systems, particularly Epic, is a plus.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for patients.
Certification or training related to medical assistance or nursing support is preferred but not mandatory.
