R.G. Nicely HVAC Inc. is looking for an experienced (minimum 3 yrs) full-time HVAC Service Tech/Installer (for the Westmoreland/Eastern Allegheny County areas). Our family business has been successful for over 50 years working with top, reputable custom home builders, commercial companies and a large, long-term customer base. Service/Maintenance will be your primary daily function however, there are occasions you will work with the install crew. The responsibilities of this role include the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems. Ensuring systems operate efficiently by performing regular preventive maintenance and promptly responding to service calls are key components of the role. Troubleshooting equipment issues and striving to achieve customer satisfaction through quality service are daily tasks.
In the install area you would be exposed to new construction working the project from start to finish with custom ductwork, installation of several heating and cooling equipment systems with all the most up to date accessories including air purifiers, humidifiers, and Wi-Fi thermostats to name a few. All making sure the units and/or systems perform up to our and our customers' expectations.
You will also be exposed to installing in-floor radiant heat systems, snow melts, boilers and ductless mini-split heat pump systems. We work with the leader in home heating and cooling equipment, Bryant. As a Bryant Factory Authorized Dealer, there are training opportunities to learn new skills and/or to further excel your skills.

We are looking for an individual who has a great work ethic, has a passion and takes great pride in their quality of work performed, is reliable, dedicated and punctual with the following skills and qualifications:
- Experience in Maintenance & Repair and Preventive Maintenance of HVAC systems
- Strong Troubleshooting skills in diagnosing and resolving equipment issues
- Ability to make service repairs properly, quickly and efficiently as possible with very little return calls
- Strong organizational skills to order all necessary parts/materials for return calls and keeping track of receipt of these parts/materials with the vendors so the call can be rescheduled by the office as quickly as possible
- Commitment to Customer Satisfaction and excellent customer service skills
- Strong organization skills to collect customer payments of all performed service calls and turning payment into the shop daily
- Skilled at processing all service warranty part claims as well as warranty part returns to the vendors when necessary within the designated timeframes
- Skilled in the installation of residential and commercial duct systems and HVAC equipment in both new and retro-fit construction as well as replacement
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently with little direction with initiative and as part of a team as well as being engaged in all aspects of all duties on the jobsite
- Ability to follow all tasks that are delegated to you by others with diligence and thoroughness
- Experience in maintaining truck material inventory used and the daily inventory replenishment to include; the loading and unloading all trucks for the days' tasks and double checking others to ensure they have not forgotten important details, materials or parts
- Conduct daily walk-thru of the jobsite to help ensure no tools or materials are left behind and the jobsite is cleaned up before leaving
- Understanding of safety practices and protocols in HVAC operations
- EPA certification or equivalent qualification and a minimum of two (2) years HVAC Service experience
- Valid driver’s license and clean record with ability to travel to/from work as well as to the job sites as required
- Must be reliable, punctual and also conduct oneself in a professional and polite manner.
Starting salary is $32-$35/hr. ($66,560-$72,800/year) which is negotiable depending on experience. There is an ability to excel and increase salary quickly based on performance.
Holiday pay, Health Care and IRA Retirement Plans are available after 90 days. Vacation pay available after a year of service.
