Full Job Description

SUMMARY

This role will utilize their strong acumen for fashion to assist in the process of creating elevated products with the direction of the Senior Design Leader for an LA-based fashion company. They will collaborate with different departments to help with managing the development of the collection from initial concept to production. This is a permanent full time position for a candidate who is passionate and eager to learn about the contemporary womenswear market. This position will also utilize their organizational skills to work independently to accomplish company goals.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Team in overall design and development of all seasonal collections
Assist with sketching/CADs process and any sketch revisions during design process
Assist in setting up swatch and print packages for send out as needed for new developments
Assist with maintaining line sheets and design boards with updated sketches, fabrics, and design info for all design presentations (such as weekly review meetings, proto reviews, production pass off, etc.)
Responsible for updating line sheet with development dates per style
Assist with setting up and updating tech packs with accurate BOMs and construction details, for both import and domestic styles
Participate in weekly fittings to record any design adjustments and update sketches/tech packs and other docs accordingly
Support with preparation for meetings by helping to gather all necessary information and materials
Responsible for maintaining well organized seasonal binders (with fabric headers/lab dips/print strike offs/etc.) and sample racks as a trusted design reference for each collection to ensure development efficiency and traceability
Assist with building and maintaining physical and virtual libraries of core fabrics and yarns
Translate all finalized styles and info to Master Line sheet
Assign style numbers to all new developments
Responsible for setting up seasonal color code requests and building style info sheets for every collection
Accurately take notes for Senior Design Leader during all major design meetings
Maintain overall organization and cleanliness of team area, including design samples + racks
Other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

Proficiency in sketching/CAD creation using Adobe Illustrator (proficiency using Procreate a plus)
Strong eye for trend and color
Ability to learn the brand DNA and support in the design process
Strong ability to clearly communicate silhouettes and detailed garment construction through tech pack creation and CADS
Strong knowledge of design details, fabric, interior construction, and fit terminology
Flexible and adaptable in a very fast-paced environment
Ability to effectively multitask and change direction as needed, to work/think independently as well as part of a team
Candidate must be highly organized with excellent follow through, attention to detail, time management skills and the ability to prioritize with a sense of urgency
Self-motivated and proactive with a positive and dependable attitude
Ability to complete daily tasks while working from home
Within reasonable commuting distance of Downtown LA
1-3 years fashion design experience in the women’s RTW contemporary market
Experience with denim is a plus
Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Fashion Design preferred or related fields
Experienced in collaborating cross-functionally with Product Development and Technical Design teams throughout the design process is a plus
Knowledge and experience in communicating with overseas vendors/factories
Knowledgeable & proficient in Google Suite, Adobe photoshop/Illustrator & MS Office

Pay: $26.00 - $31.00 per hour
