Senior Workers’ Compensation Defense Legal Assistant

Join a Respected, Team-Oriented Defense Firm

Established California workers’ compensation defense firm seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support a busy partner in our Anaheim Hills office.

We are looking for a highly organized, proactive professional who can confidently manage a fast-paced desk, prioritize competing deadlines, and contribute to a collaborative, long-term team environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced workers’ compensation legal assistant seeking stability, professionalism, supportive attorneys, and a positive office culture with strong work-life balance.

Responsibilities

Provide direct support to a workers’ compensation defense partner
Manage attorney calendar, deadlines, hearings, depositions, PQMEs, and medical appointments
Prepare, revise, proofread, and finalize legal correspondence and pleadings
E-file documents through EAMS/WCAB
Maintain and organize electronic case files and case management systems
Communicate professionally with clients, claims adjusters, opposing counsel, medical offices, and court personnel
Assist with litigation support and day-to-day case management
Handle incoming/outgoing correspondence and document management
Prioritize and manage a high-volume workload with accuracy and professionalism

Qualifications

Minimum 3+ years California workers’ compensation defense experience strongly preferred
Strong working knowledge of WCAB procedures, EAMS filing, and workers’ compensation terminology
Experience supporting a busy litigation desk independently
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Outlook
Experience with MerusCase or similar legal case management software preferred
Excellent organizational, proofreading, and communication skills
Ability to work efficiently in a deadline-driven environment
Professional, dependable, detail-oriented, and team-focused
