Full Job Description

Calculated Solutions Group is currently hiring experienced Welders for one of our growing commercial construction clients. This is a great opportunity for skilled welders looking for steady work, competitive pay, and long-term career opportunities with a respected company in the construction industry.

We are seeking dependable, safety-focused candidates with experience welding and fabricating structural steel in a commercial or industrial environment.

Job Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and fabrication specifications
Perform MIG, FCAW, Stick, and other welding processes as required
Fabricate, fit, weld, cut, and drill structural steel components
Layout and fit steel parts with close tolerances
Weld vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions as needed
Inspect welds to ensure quality standards and specifications are met
Operate welding machines, torches, grinders, drills, and other fabrication tools
Fabricate subassemblies and structural steel components for commercial construction projects
Drill holes and prepare steel for bolted connections
Safely unload, organize, and stage steel materials
Use measuring tools, laser equipment, plumb bobs, and levels to verify alignment and accuracy
Assist with moving materials using overhead cranes and forklifts
Maintain a clean and safe fabrication area
Follow all OSHA and job site safety regulations

Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of structural welding and fabrication experience
Experience in commercial or industrial construction preferred
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings
Ability to pass a 3G FCAW welding test in accordance with AWS D1.1 standards preferred
Experience welding vertical positions
Ability to layout, cut, fit, and cope steel using hand torch methods
Strong tape measure and fabrication skills with attention to detail
Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes preferred
Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment
Reliable transportation and strong work ethic required
