Full Job Description

Job Summary

The Senior Accountant oversees accounting and reporting, general ledger reconciliation, and accounting policy development; computes and prepares data for journal entries, general ledger, and related financial statements; oversees all accounting functions. Prepares to consolidate and consolidates financial statements and other financial reports. The Senior Accountant will need to be hands-on and able to lead all day-to-day finance operations and supervise a team in accounts receivable and accounts payable.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepares, reviews, and interprets data for inclusion in financial reports, statements, and summaries.
Reviews financial data for accuracy; identifies problems and supports day-to-day operations.
Analyzes and maintains all accounts receivable accounts, refund accounts, and deposit accounts.
Manage month end closing; prepare journal entries
Monthly financial statements to include consolidation of multiple entities
Balance sheet reconciliations
Produce accurate and timely monthly financial statements
Reconcile and explain variances to monthly revenues projections by each branch
Prepare monthly commission reports
Fixed Assets and capital expenditure tracking
Weekly cash flow reporting; reviewing daily bank reconciliation
Oversee the annual insurance audits
Prepares minority business applications
Special projects to include business acquisitions
Daily cash management and reconciliation
AR collections
Monitor AR and file liens as appropriate

Job Skills & Requirements

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with three+ year’s experience in medium businesses or accounting firms, with a strong background in AR/AP, financial and management reporting, and consolidations of multiple entities.
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks preferred).
Possess a CPA or CPA qualification and certification in progress required.
Comfortable with Microsoft Office tools and functions. High literacy with Excel spreadsheet data processing.
Good interpersonal skills are required to operate in and maintain a team environment.
Ability to solve problems with or without oral or written instructions
A high level of confidentiality and integrity is a must
Dependable, punctual, helpful, detail-oriented
Outstanding communication skills and proper etiquette (written, phone, in-person)
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Drug screen and background check required
Tasks assigned by the supervisor or manager
