- The anticipated starting base salary range for individuals expressing interest in this position is $200,000 to $230,000 per year.
In your day-to-day, you will:
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of medical and surgical ophthalmic conditions, delivering advanced care for both referral and emergency patients.
- Perform ophthalmic surgical procedures utilizing specialized equipment and the support of a multidisciplinary specialty hospital team.
- Collaborate closely with Internal Medicine, Surgery, Neurology, Oncology, Critical Care, Cardiology, and Emergency clinicians to develop comprehensive treatment plans for complex cases.
- Provide ophthalmic consultations for hospitalized and specialty patients throughout the hospital, helping optimize patient outcomes through collaborative care.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic resources and specialty support services to facilitate comprehensive ophthalmic evaluations and treatment planning.
- Build strong relationships with referring veterinarians through consultation, communication, and coordinated patient management.
- Guide pet owners through diagnoses, treatment options, surgical recommendations, and long-term management plans with empathy, transparency, and confidence.
- Mentor interns, residents, students, technicians, and support staff as part of a collaborative and educational hospital culture, if desired.
- Participate in rounds, educational initiatives, and specialty discussions that contribute to professional growth and hospital-wide clinical excellence.
- Contribute to the continued growth and success of the Ophthalmology service while helping advance the collaborative culture that defines Red Bank Veterinary Hospital.
What You Bring
- DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
- Board Certification in Veterinary Ophthalmology (DACVO) or Residency Trained/Practice Limited to Diseases of the Animal Eye equivalent.
- Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach.
