We are looking for an experienced Telecommunications Engineer, who thrives in complex environments and takes ownership of designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise voice and cloud-based contact center systems.
Work Arrangement: This is a Hybrid role; therefore, candidates must reside in the Upstate New York region to support on-site business needs, participate in an on-call rotation, respond to critical incidents, and attend occasional after-hours maintenance windows.

This role focuses on Cisco VoIP technologies and AWS Connect infrastructure. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with VoIP systems, SIP protocols, and cloud telephony, with strong troubleshooting and operational skills.

Design, deploy, and support Cisco VoIP infrastructure including CUCM, Unity Connection, CUBE, and UCCX

Configure and maintain SIP trunks, voice gateways, and dial plans

Monitor and troubleshoot voice quality issues (latency, jitter, packet loss, QoS)

Perform daytoday administration and support of telephony and contact center platforms

Integrate telephony systems with enterprise applications (CRM, ticketing systems, APIs)

Support high availability and disaster recovery configurations for voice systems

Troubleshoot voice and networkrelated issues across LAN/WAN environments

Maintain technical documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures

Collaborate with network, security, and cloud teams to ensure stable operations
Who You Are & What You’ll Bring

35 years of experience in telecommunications or VoIP engineering
-
Experience with Cisco VoIP platforms (CUCM, Unity Connection, CUBE, UCCX)

Handson experience with AWS Connect and related AWS services (Lambda, S3, CloudWatch)

Understanding of SIP, RTP, and VoIP protocols

Experience with call routing, dial plans, and voice gateways

Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching)

Experience with QoS concepts and troubleshooting

Cisco certifications (CCNA/CCNP Collaboration)

AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Cloud Practitioner

Experience with scripting or automation (Python, PowerShell)

Familiarity with additional contact center platforms (Mitel)

Experience with VoIP security and best practices

Implement and manage AWS Connect environments, including contact flows, routing profiles, and integrations
Education/Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) is required.
Technical Savvy: Experience with VoIP Systems Administration, Cisco Unified.

Communication: Strong ability to communicate complex network concepts and issues clearly to both technical and non technical audiences, ensuring alignment, transparency, and timely decision making.
Travel Requirements: up to 25% travel as needed for onsite support
Physical Readiness: Capability for sedentary work, including sitting for long periods and occasionally exerting up to 10 pounds of force.
