Located in the heart of the Finger Lakes, we own and operate two restaurants in the Ithaca area, Ciao! and The BoatYard Grill. Ciao! Wood-fired Pizza & Pasta is ranked #74 nationwide amongst the Top 100 Independently Owned Pizza Restaurants. The BoatYard Grill Restaurant specializes in Seafood & Steak and is located on the inlet of Cayuga Lake. We pride ourselves on providing our guests with an upscale dining experience with casual dining prices, and comfort.

We are currently seeking applicants for our Sous Chef / Kitchen Manager positions.

Job Description:

Our Sous Chef / Kitchen Manager is responsible for supporting the Executive Chef and Managers in leading a team of Culinary Professionals that deliver high-quality, great tasting food. Inspire and motivate daily excellence in Culinary Operations. Ensure Proper food safety and sanitation procedures are met. Utilize experience and talent to help restaurant reach their financial goals through skilled management in the categories of labor, food cost and ordering. The Sous Chef contributes to building top line sales and guest count through the delivery of a competitively superior Team Member and Guest experience. Additionally, the Sous Chef supports managing quality in all aspects of their job.

Job Requirements:

· Passion for people, Hospitality, Culinary & Beverage excellence, and having fun

· Proven success as a Sous Chef in a high- volume upscale or casual restaurant with a scratch kitchen

· Ability to unify a team in a high volume, high energy environment

· Communication skills that encourage an environment of openness and professionalism

· Understanding and aptitude for team member and peer development

· Ability to accept and act on feedback

· Proven ability to recruit, interview and develop talent among our Team Members

· Knowledge of systems, methods and processes that contribute to great execution

· Must have 2+years of kitchen management experience in a full service, moderate to high volume restaurant. .
