Full Job Description

TITLE: Prevocational Services Manager

STATUS: Full-time, non-exempt

REPORTS TO: Director of Employment and Vocational Services

JOB SUMMARY:

Provides daily supervision and coordination of Community Based Prevocational staff and programming. Works closely with Manager of Supported Employment and Director of Employment and Vocational Services to maintain necessary staffing to keep clients progressing in their vocational programming. Works with Director of EVS to develop new programming opportunities for CBPV participants and transitioning students.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Provide daily supervision and coordination of OPWDD Community Based Pre-Vocational services
Work with Director of Employment and Vocational Services and Supported Employment Manager to support clients transitioning from OPWDD Prevocational services into OPWDD Supported Employment.
Work with Director or Employment and Vocational Services and Supported Employment Manager to identify and implement additional services that can support long-term employment success for OPWDD clients.
Work with Director and other staff to implement and improve ACCES VR pre-employment services.
Work with Director and other staff to develop and improve pre-employment supports for clients enrolled in OMH-funded programming.
Work with other managers in completing intake and assessment of new referrals
Develop and implement vocational counseling, assessment, goal planning, and follow-up supports to service recipients.
Provide daily support to individuals including oversight, transportation, personal care and assistance in business operations and community activities
Oversee maintenance and management of agency fleet vehicles
Coordinate services with other human service and community agencies.
Communicate internally within agency and externally with other service providers, employers, community agencies, families and funding sources, fostering positive professional relationships
Work with Director and Human Resources Department to hire, train, supervise and provide staff development for program staff including coordination of external OPWDD trainings
Work with Director to assure successful completion of documentation and statistical reporting to maximize billable service revenue.
Maintain knowledge and follow policies and procedures of funding, licensing and regulatory agencies.
Miscellaneous duties as assigned by Director.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Bachelor’s Degree plus two (2) years experience with OPWDD programming. Exceptional written and oral communication plus strong teamwork and organizational skills. Valid New York State driver’s license that meets third party insurance requirements and a reliable vehicle.
