We are seeking an experienced Purchasing & Supply Chain Coordinator to manage the procurement of raw materials, fabricated components, hardware, and production supplies. This individual will work closely with production, engineering, scheduling, and vendors to ensure materials are available when needed while maintaining quality, cost, and delivery expectations.
Responsibilities
- Purchase raw materials including steel, laminate, hardware, fasteners, casters, packaging, and production supplies.
- Source new suppliers while maintaining strong relationships with existing vendors.
- Request and evaluate quotations to obtain the best combination of price, quality, and delivery.
- Issue purchase orders and monitor open orders through delivery.
- Expedite late deliveries and resolve supplier shortages or quality issues.
- Monitor inventory levels and replenish materials to support production schedules.
- Coordinate closely with Production, Engineering, Sales, and Scheduling to understand upcoming material requirements.
- Review engineering drawings and bills of material to ensure accurate purchasing.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and supplier agreements.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through alternate materials, vendors, and purchasing strategies.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records within the ERP system.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline purchasing and inventory processes.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing materials and production processes.
- Experience purchasing steel, fabricated components, industrial hardware, or similar products preferred.
- Ability to read bills of material and basic engineering drawings.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with ERP systems (Fulcrum ERP experience is a plus).
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in metal fabrication or industrial manufacturing.
- Knowledge of inventory management and production planning.
- APICS or supply chain certifications are a plus.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles.

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
