Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work with a team effectively in a fast-paced, high volume environment. The employee will need to have a strong and consistent work history. We are looking for a self starter that can complete multiple tasks quickly and with minimal supervision. This position requires an outgoing personality who can maintain professionalism under stress. A previous history of employment in the dental or medical field is highly recommended.

Duties

Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols.
Take medical imaging, including X-rays, using advanced technology such as 3D scanners.
Maintain accurate patient records using dental software, preferably Dentrix.
Perform basic laboratory tasks as needed, including preparing materials for procedures.
Monitor and record vital signs of patients before and during treatments.
Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.

Experience

Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is highly recommended but not mandatory; we welcome enthusiastic candidates willing to learn.
Knowledge of infection control procedures is essential to maintain a safe clinic environment.
Strong interpersonal skills for communicating treatment needs with patients and staff.
Proficiency in using dental technologies such as medical imaging equipment and 3D scanners is preferred but can be taught on the job.
Ability to function at a high level in a fast paced environment.
An active CPR and Radiology Permit will be required within 30 days of hire if not currently a holder. Employees are responsible for the cost of certifications.
