Full Job Description

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to support daily accounting operations and help maintain accurate financial records for the organization in Jackson, Tennessee. This role is well suited for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working across core accounting functions. The position will contribute to month-end activities, tax-related work, and general ledger accuracy while partnering with internal teams to keep financial processes running smoothly.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and post journal entries to ensure financial activity is recorded completely and accurately.
Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to maintain reliable financial reporting.
Assist with the preparation and filing of corporate tax returns in accordance with applicable requirements.
Support sales tax reporting by gathering data, reviewing transactions, and helping submit timely filings.
Participate in month-end and year-end close processes, including account analysis and supporting documentation.
Review financial records for accuracy and consistency, resolving issues in collaboration with relevant departments.
Help maintain organized accounting documentation and schedules to support audits and internal reviews.
Contribute to accounting process improvements and support changes to financial workflows or systems when needed.
Experience or coursework in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Working knowledge of general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation.
Familiarity with corporate tax concepts, including exposure to tax return support activities.
Understanding of sales tax processes and transaction-level review.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately.
Proficiency with spreadsheets and accounting software used for financial reporting and reconciliation.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders.
