Medical Assistant Coordinator
Provides a broad range of clinical and clerical support services to patients and physicians within the Reproductive Endocrinology Department.
Software packages, computer, voicemail, telephone, calculator, faxes, etc.

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS
Regular attendance is required Monday – Friday. Schedules may include weekends as assigned by each department manager with alternating weekdays off. Schedules are subject to change due to department needs. Should there be a need to change hours or a schedule, supervisors will discuss the change in advance of making the change unless there is an urgent situation requiring the change.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Communicates, collaborates, and seeks out opportunities to provide service to patients, physicians, staff, and others in a courteous manner.
- Answers telephones, welcomes visitors, and provides/relays appropriate information.
- Provides phlebotomy services (blood draws) for patient labs.
- Provides clinical care consistent with physician orders and departmental policies and procedures.
- Telephones prescriptions to pharmacies as directed by physician.
- Documents patient care in patient medical record.

Scrubs and assists physicians with IVF procedures.
- Schedules patients in an organized and efficient manner, utilizing knowledge of practice patterns and protocols to promote effective use of physicians while minimizing patient delays.
- Maintains inventory of clinical/office supplies.
- Schedules surgery (based on specific roll).

Cleans and supplies exam rooms. Ensures sterility of procedure rooms and instruments. Assures compliance with JCAHO, OSHA, HIPAA, and other quality assurance standards.
- Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments by reading appropriate books, journals, and other literature and by attending educational programs and other related activities.
QUALIFICATIONS and/or REQUIREMENTS

Registered (RMA/CMA) graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- One year Medical Assistant experience required; One Year Nurse Technician experience required.
- Demonstrated computer literacy.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to deal with sensitive information requiring discretion and independent decision making.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work effectively and efficiently under deadlines, high volumes, and multiple interruptions.
