Executive Chef

The Foxtail Madison – Madison, MS

Salary: $75,000–$85,000 per year

About Us

The Foxtail is a chef-driven, upscale Mediterranean-inspired restaurant committed to exceptional food, genuine hospitality, and creating memorable dining experiences. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Executive Chef to lead our culinary team, uphold the highest standards, and help continue growing our reputation for outstanding cuisine.

If you are a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and enjoys mentoring a team while maintaining exceptional quality, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

Lead all daily kitchen operations.
Develop, train, and mentor kitchen staff while fostering a positive team culture.
Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation of every dish.
Create seasonal features and collaborate on menu development.
Manage food and labor costs while maintaining profitability.
Oversee inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships.
Maintain food safety, sanitation, and health department standards.
Schedule and manage kitchen staffing levels.
Work closely with the front-of-house management team to deliver an outstanding guest experience.
Lead by example through professionalism, accountability, and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of executive or senior sous chef experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant.
Strong leadership and team development skills.
Excellent knowledge of food costing, inventory management, and labor control.
Passion for creating exceptional food and guest experiences.
Ability to remain calm and organized under pressure.
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
ServSafe Certification (or ability to obtain).
