Position Overview
Fortitude Roofing is hiring an experienced Roof Repair Technician / Gutter Installer to join our growing service team.
This is a hybrid field position for someone who can independently diagnose and complete roofing repairs while also fabricating and installing professional seamless gutter systems.
The right person is not simply a helper. You must have hands-on roofing experience, understand how roofing systems fail, and be capable of completing many repair projects with limited supervision.
You will assist with larger or more complex repairs when needed, but you will also be expected to lead repair jobs, troubleshoot problems, communicate professionally with customers, and take responsibility for the quality of the finished work.
When not performing roofing repairs, you will fabricate and install seamless gutter systems using Fortitude Roofing's equipment and installation standards.
This position is best suited for an experienced tradesperson who takes pride in workmanship, can solve problems in the field, and does not need constant direction to get the job done correctly.
Roofing Repair Responsibilities
- Diagnose roof leaks, damage, and common roofing failures
- Lead and complete residential roofing repair projects
- Assist with larger or more complex roofing repairs as needed
- Repair shingles, flashing, pipe boots, vents, penetrations, valleys, and other roofing components
- Identify damaged decking, underlayment, flashing, trim, and related materials
- Remove damaged roofing materials and properly install replacement materials
- Perform minor fascia, soffit, trim, and related exterior repairs when required
- Determine the appropriate repair method based on field conditions
- Take jobsite photos and document repair conditions and completed work
- Communicate unexpected conditions or additional work requirements to management
- Confirm completed repairs meet Fortitude Roofing workmanship standards
- Protect customer property and leave every jobsite clean
Gutter Installation Responsibilities
- Fabricate and install seamless 6-inch .032 aluminum gutter systems
- Operate and maintain an Englert 660 gutter machine
- Measure and fabricate gutters accurately for each project
- Install downspouts, elbows, outlets, hangers, miters, end caps, and related accessories
- Properly pitch, fasten, seal, and test gutter systems
- Install gutter guards when required
- Complete clean miters, secure fastening, and professional finish work
- Confirm gutters and downspouts drain properly
- Load, unload, transport, and organize gutter materials, tools, ladders, and equipment
Jobsite Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite
- Follow Fortitude Roofing safety procedures at all times
- Properly use ladders, fall protection, tools, and equipment
- Protect landscaping, siding, windows, driveways, and other customer property
- Communicate professionally with homeowners when required
- Work effectively with project managers, installers, repair technicians, and other team members
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
- Show up prepared, on time, and ready to work
- Take ownership of assigned projects from arrival through completion
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Previous roofing repair experience required
- Ability to diagnose roofing problems and determine appropriate repair methods
- Ability to complete common roofing repairs without constant supervision
- Strong working knowledge of asphalt shingle roofing systems
- Experience using roofing tools, ladders, and construction equipment
- Comfortable working on roofs, ladders, and elevated surfaces
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift, carry, and move construction materials and equipment
- Strong attention to detail and workmanship
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and make sound decisions in the field
- Dependable transportation
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Experience
Experience in any of the following is strongly preferred:
- Seamless gutter installation
- Operating an Englert 660 or similar gutter machine
- Installing 6-inch .032 aluminum gutters
- Gutter guard installation
- Metal roofing repairs
- Flashing and sheet-metal work
- Fascia and soffit repair
- Exterior trim work
- Siding
- Trailer towing and equipment handling

Compensation
Compensation is based on roofing experience, gutter installation ability, production capability, workmanship, and reliability.
Additional compensation opportunities may be available as responsibilities and production capabilities increase.
Pay: $25.88 - $31.16 per hour
