North Dakota State Hospital (NDSH) is seeking an Activity Therapist in Jamestown, ND.

You will bring energy and heart to the North Dakota State Hospital (NDSH) by designing and leading activities that make each day more meaningful. From small group sessions on the unit to outings in the community, you will work with departments across NDSH, to ensure that people staying here have opportunities to enjoy engaging experiences throughout their days, nights, and weekends.

This isn't just about filling time, it's about creating moments people look forward to and remember. Whether it's a lively group activity or a quiet, purposeful project, your work will add joy and purpose to the quality of each person's stay.

To thrive in this position, you will bring a willingness to try new things and a genuine passion for helping others. Strong communication skills will help you connect with a wide range of people, while your creativity will keep activities fresh and exciting. Flexibility is important since plans can change quickly, and your ability to work independently with good time management will keep everything running smoothly.

To be considered for this position, you are required to have a bachelor's degree in one of the following areas listed below.
Accepted degrees:

recreation therapy, occupational therapy, physical Therapy
physical education, health and wellness, exercise science, exercise physiology,
communication disorders,
human resource management (human service track),
social work, psychology, counseling,
developmental disabilities, special education, vocational rehabilitation
nursing, sociology,
elementary education, Child development and family science.

We will consider filling the position with an Activity Assistant at a reduced rate.

Must have a high school diploma or GED.

This position is located on site at NDSH in Jamestown, ND.

The North Dakota State Hospital (NDSH), located in Jamestown, is a specialized psychiatric hospital that serves the whole state. Services focus on psychiatric rehabilitation, residential substance use disorders treatment, and residential treatment for sexually dangerous individuals.
